What To Write On Enclosure Cards...

"What should I have it say…”

We hear those words a lot. You know that moment...when your florist says to you “what would you like written on the card”. Your mind starts racing; you can’t seem to find the words to even start. Here are some helpful hints that we at Heart ‘n Home has come up with:

Sympathy:

The best tip we can give you is: keep it simple. Most funeral homes in our area keep the cards on only for the visitation. They remove them for the funeral. That means the family has only a little bit of time to look at the arrangements with the cards on it. By keeping the wording simple - it is easier for them to read and remember.

If you have numerous names - it might be beneficial to see if you can text it or email it to your florist. Otherwise it is also a great idea to put “the Jim and Nancy Smith Family”. Much more easy to read than a list of 10 names.

Also; if you wish the arrangement, plant, or plaque, to go to a specific person...start out the card by saying: Dear Jim and family, …. Sometimes the funeral director will have the card pulled off the item before they realize it was to go to someone specific. Again, this simply makes it easier to remember.
